Knowing the time measurement units is essential for understanding and telling time.
Time units are year, month, week, day, hour, minute, second, and split second.
It is important to know the relationships between time measurement units and to be able to convert them. They are intertwined and we can express one unit with the other. Therefore, it is necessary to know how to equate these units to each other and how to express them interchangeably.
The main unit of time measurement is the hour and is briefly indicated as h.
Units of time measurement less than hours:
∗ 1 hour = 60 minutes
∗ 1 hour = 3600 seconds
∗ 1 minute = 60 seconds
∗ 1 second = 60 seconds
Units of time measurement greater than the hour:
∗ 1 day = 24 hours
∗ 1 week = 7 days
∗ 1 month = 28 – 30 – 31 days
∗ 1 year = 365 days (366 days every 4 years)
∗ 1 century = 100 years
∗ 1 millennium = 1000 years
