The parts of a year when we experience different weather events are called seasons. We basically go through four different weather changes in a year. Therefore, we experience four different seasons. These are spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Each season lasts for three months.

Winter: December, January, February

Spring: March, April, May

Summer: June, July, August

Autumn: September, October, November

Now let’s see what happens in these four seasons.

WINTER

Winter is the coldest season.

Weather is often snowy, rainy, or freezing.

Trees shed all their leaves.

We wear thick clothes, scarves, and gloves to protect ourselves from the cold.

We heat our houses using air conditioners, electrical heaters, lighting fireplaces, or other means of heating.

We are more prone to catch flu or influenza.

SPRING

Spring is the season when the weather starts to warm up slowly again.

Nature begins to come alive.

The trees begin to green and bloom again.

It’s raining very often.

We begin taking off our coats and boots.

Migratory birds come back again.

Animals start to come out of their burrows.

SUMMER

It is the hottest season.

The trees begin to bear fruit.

Schools are closed and we go on summer vacation.

We wear our thinnest clothes.

We eat ice cream and drink lots of water.

AUTUMN

The leaves of the trees turn yellow and begin to fall.

There is a lot of rain and wind.

We wear thick clothes like sweatshirts and long pants.

Migratory birds migrate to warm countries.

Animals stay in their nests to protect themselves from the cold.

Autumn is also the harvest season. Farmers collect the crops.
